abstract = {This paper presents the design of a Model-In-the-Loop simulation framework for Automated Driving (AD) and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems ( ADAS) testing. This simulation framework aims to enable a test process based on desktop co-simulation, driving simulation and HPC massive simulation to meet the challenges in AD/ADAS validation. In order to achieve a scalable simulation platform which can be tailored for each simulation target, a simulation functional architecture with variant strategy is firstly employed. Then the simulation models are standardized using the concept of Model Identity Card and model-packaging technique. Moreover, the derivation of scenarios for driving simulator and massive simulation is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed framework is demonstrated in a case study on a cut-in use case for AD. Finally, the encountered difficulties are discussed, and the future work directions are provided.},
