abstract = {In this work a comparison study in a dynamic driving simulator has been conducted with mixed reality (MR) headset and cave automatic virtual environment (CAVE) technologies. In addition, both systems were compared to a real drive (RD). The main motivation for this work was to explore the potential implementations of MR headsets in the driving simulation field, especially with a focus on human-machine-interface (HMI). The driving tasks included a haptic interaction of participants with a real touch display where participants entered real addresses into a navigation system during lane change maneuvers. The results of this work showed that there can be significant improvements by integrating MR headsets into dynamic driving simulators. In comparison to results from previous work, which compared dynamic driving simulators wirh virtual reality (VR) headsets and CAVE visualization systems, this finding creates new insight into the enhancement of the simulators.},
